Thursday night saw the official single launch party for the singer Tally Koren who I have been working with. The single ‘Beauty of the Duty’ was voted for by Tally’s fans to be the first single off her latest album ’72 Names’. The single has been receiving a lot of radio play across the country and most noticeably on Radio 2! ‘Beauty of the Duty’ is currently on Radio 2′s C-list but has been heard a number of times on Chris Evans’ breakfast show (the biggest radio show in the country!!)
It was the first time that I had seen Tally perform live, and she performed about a half an hour set, consisting of songs from ’72 Names’ with a full live band. It was great to hear the songs live and I felt that personally it gave the songs their own life. I was blown away hearing the full power of Tally’s voice. One of the highlights was the performance of ‘Beauty of the Duty’, it was brilliant to see the crowd feeding off Tally’s energy and dancing along! But my highlight was the inclusion of guitarist JC on ‘Gaugain Meets Degas’ and ‘Floating’, as his beautiful guitar melodies just added to the great live sound.
There was also meant to be a big official screening of the ‘Beauty of the Duty’ video but due to a technical fault it could not be shown on the big screen, so instead everyone crowded around a Mac and watched it on there! Even though it was only a small screen, it looked absolutely amazing! The video was filmed in Belfast only a couple of weeks ago and is incredibly epic, and which only accentuates the powerful meaning of the lyrics. I can’t wait to see it again and I can’t wait for it to be in the public domain as I know it’s only going to add to the scale of the single campaign.
