I am a Digital Account Manager at VidZone Digital Media, developing marketing and promotions for the labels that we distribute. I negotiate the promotion and marketing of key releases on mobile and digital music stores. The key retailers that I work with include management of the O2 Music Store and liaising with Vodafone Music, Music Unlimited, BBM Music, and Amazon MP3 amongst others for UK and international releases. I have worked hard to build a strong relationship with my contacts at these retailers and through my well-built relationships there has been a strong increase in the amount of content that has been given good exposure which has resulted in revenue increasing on all platforms. A high level of organisational skills has ensured that a number of big promotions for clients such as Anjunabeats and Ministry of Sound have been developed and successfully executed. This included organising a back catalogue price-drop on all of Above & Beyond’s previous albums the week that their latest album ‘Group Therapy’ was released. Through securing this and also an exclusive additional track for the Amazon MP3 release of the album an ‘Above & Beyond’ titled carousel was added to the ‘Special Deals and Free Songs’ page for the week of release.
I am currently work as a personal assistant to singer-songwriter for Tally Koren. Since I began working for the production company TCK Productions, I have developed the digital marketing and web presence of Tally. We are currently working towards the release of Tally’s next single, 72 Names and for which there is a 72-day campaign to raise awareness of both Tally’s name and the single. The campaign looks to explore the significance of the number 72 in a variety of different situations in everyday life, which has enabled us to target people from all walks of life via blogs, Facebook and YouTube. My role supports Tally in an administrative way for example by contacting sponsors but also in a creative way as I have had a key role in the development of the ideas for the 72-day campaign.
For The Laboratory Project I organised an acoustic showcase to tie-in with Record Store Day 2011 and second Taste Masters release. I am passionate about supporting independent music in the industry and I felt that this event in particular was a great opportunity to show off the label’s brand, whilst supporting a local record store, and tie-ing in with a national industry event. There was a highly successful launch for the second compilation release back in May. On the night I worked as the stage manager, whilst liaised with the bands, venue, sound, lights technicians to ensure the night ran smoothly and to time. Although I am now based in London I am passionate about the label’s ethos and I look to support it when and wherever possible.
